Why?
An important objective of the programme is to provide a framework for a more coherent and strategic approach to river corridor improvements and green networks to enhance the quality of life of local communities.

The River Corridor Greenways Project will:

• improve the appearance and amenities of local environments
• enhance the river corridor for wildlife
• increase the value of community assets
• add to the main spinal multi-user routes along the river valleys
• improve the footpath links between the river corridor spinal routes, community facilities and the valley communities.
